Founded in 1976 by the late Interior Designer, John Piper, Piper Hertneck Design has earned a superior reputation for quality, value, timeliness and well executed projects. Client satisfaction and referrals are the firm’s primary objectives.

Interior Design Principal, Nicholas Hertneck, ASID, and Designer Larry Lazzaro, maintain open communication with the firm’s clients, which is essential to the smooth flow of information required to move projects forward. While Residential Design is the core business at Piper Hertneck, the firm also provides Hospitality and Retail Design, Construction Management and Architectural Design. Nicholas Hertneck ASID, CID

Nicholas Hertneck ASID, is one of Southern California’s leading Interior Designers and his firm, Piper Hertneck Design, has been creating interiors for successful and discerning clients for more than 25 years. Nicholas is a Professional Member of the American Society of Interior Designers and has served on the ASID/LA Board of Directors.

Well versed in architecture and art as well as antiques and style, Nicholas describes his design sensibility as luxurious and eclectic. In all his projects, his first consideration is his clients’ comfort and living requirements. In addition to luxury residences, he has designed a wide variety of projects including; interiors for yachts and private aircraft, corporate headquarters, country clubs and hotels, restaurants and retail stores.

Clients are initially attracted to Nicholas’ creativity, confidence, versatility and discretion. Consistently maintaining a high level of quality in the execution of his design keeps his clients coming back. Nicholas regularly designs multiple projects for a single client and expects to keep a client for a lifetime.

Based in Beverly Hills, Nicholas designs and manages projects across the United States.

Larry Lazzaro – Partner

Larry Lazzaro, Interior Design Partner, joined Piper Hertneck in 2009. He is inspired by historical architecture and is passionate about creating “seamless environments.” His love of Hospitality Design is rooted in his earlier career as Director of Operations of several highly regarded New York City restaurants including Arizona 206 and Sign of the Dove. He is committed to inspirational customer service. Larry is an expert at researching for new knowledge, technology and resources that is used for finding solutions and enhancing Piper Hertneck projects. He is on the cutting edge of information in the design industry.
